On par is good

Now we’re off to the metropolis, this nation’s capital: Paris

With a short stop at Chartres to break up the journey:

Wonderful cathedral and a lovely lunch. Today is a good day…

Where should we go first?

We chose the Eiffel Tower and we were blown away by it. Who knew practical engineering could be so beautiful? We took a lot of pictures:

And then there’s the views:

Now where?

Musée Rodin we think, via the Hôtel des Invalides:

Not only is Rodin gifted he must have been incredibly patient. The casting process for his sculptures was a labourious undertaking but the results breathtaking:

And of course:

So then a little wonder on to Alexander III Bridge, great name for a bridge:

And then the bells, the bells:

Our last tourist stop is Montmartre for a view across Paris. Unfortunately it was raining but we did find a gem, Espace Dalí:

We loved France and Paris was a fitting end to our travels. To finish in one of the finest foodie capitals in the world was a shrewd move.

Now it’s time to go home, we’re stuffed.

Au revoir et merci.
